Honeypot is “the world’s first micro-dating app,” a term coined by their founders which refers to first dates that last no longer than an hour. Aiming to create quick spontaneous dates between singles, users can only find matches inside small geofenced areas around the city called “Honeypots”. The founders hired an Effectus Software frontend team to take over the development of their hybrid mobile app MVP. Users would only use the app for a few minutes a day, so it had to be as snappy and instantaneous as possible. For this, we architectured the app with Redux Sagas to handle SocketIO connections. To build a customized map with geolocation and geofencing we leveraged the Mapbox SDK. The project also required subscriptions with IAP and bug tracking with Sentry.
